Glad 2 Be Homecare was created by two professionals who understand what families need most during life's difficult transitions: guidance, empathy, and unwavering support.
Two hearts, one mission—keeping you home, happy, and independent.
Glad 2 Be Homecare was founded by Shakeria and Neil Brown. Shakeria Brown is a dynamic health care leader, Army veteran, and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who has devoted her seventeen plus year career to supporting the growth, resilience, and well-being of individuals and communities.
Neil Brown brings over two decades of legal expertise, leadership, and community-focused service. As a long-serving Caseflow Coordinator for the State of Connecticut Judicial Branch, Mr. Brown has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to fairness, problem-solving, and collaboration. His work has required him to engage with diverse populations, foster consensus, and create systems that support equitable outcomes.
Neil and Shakeria have worked with families during difficult times and are familiar with helping them navigate those difficult times with grace, compassion, guidance, and empathy. Shakeria knew that most elderly want to remain at home, where they have created so many memories, where their kids, grand-kids, relatives and friends come and go for holidays, parties and vacations. She wanted to find a way to reduce hospital admissions and allow the elderly to age in place without the need to be in the hospital or a nursing home unless it is absolutely
necessary.
That's why Glad 2 Be Homecare was created. Our services help you age happily in the comfort of your own home while keeping your independence. So that you are Glad To Be Home! Neil and Shakeria are longtime Connecticut Residents, currently residing in Naugatuck with their two daughters.

Choosing homecare is personal, and trust isn't given lightly. Here's why families throughout Connecticut choose us as their partners in care:
We're led by clinical excellence—a Registered Nurse guides every protocol, training session, and care decision. Our caregivers aren't just qualified; they're carefully selected, comprehensively trained, and genuinely invested in your well-being. We don't believe in one-size-fits-all care; every plan is tailored specifically to your needs, preferences, and lifestyle. Most importantly, we collaborate with you and your family at every turn—because the best care happens when everyone's voice is heard.

Reach out by phone, email, or through our website. We'll schedule a complimentary consultation at your convenience—in your home, over the phone, or wherever you feel most comfortable.

Together, we'll discuss your needs, preferences, and goals. We'll introduce you to potential caregivers (never strangers!), answer all your questions, and design a care plan that fits your life and budget.

Your personalized care begins on your schedule. We handle all the details, so you can focus on what matters most—living fully and comfortably at home.
